What is Utah Operation Lifesaver?

Utah Operation Lifesaver is a statewide, non-profit public awareness and education program dedicated to ending tragic collisions, fatalities, and injuries at highway-rail grade crossings and on railroad property. Utah Operation Lifesaver wants you and your family to be safe around highway-rail grade crossings and trains! Our authorized volunteers are available, free of charge, to provide important safety information to professional truck and bus drivers, school bus drivers, drivers education classes, elementary school students, law enforcement and emergency responders, and other civic organizations. For further information, or to arrange a presentation please contact our Vern Keeslar, Executive Director at 801-310-1035 or olutah@gmail.com or Walt Webster, Assistant Director at 801-597-5628 or wwebster1@msn.com

Ever stopped to consider the dangers involved with crossing highway-rail grade intersections or trespassing on railroad property? At Utah Operation Lifesaver, we have.

We know that injuries and fatalities that occur at highway-rail crossings or on railroad property are a real, but often preventable problem. Few people realize that in America, a person or vehicle is hit by a train roughly every three hours, and that's a reality we're determined to change. Welcome to Utah Operation Lifesaver, a non-profit organization providing public education in Utah since 1976 to prevent collisions, injuries and fatalities on and around railroad tracks and highway-rail grade crossings.

Mission

Utah Operation Lifesaver is a nonprofit public safety education and awareness organization dedicated to reducing collisions, fatalities and injuries at highway-rail crossings and trespassing on or near railroad tracks.

Vision

To be the recognized leader in providing the public with rail safety education and ending death and injuries due to trespassing and collisions on the tracks.
